The capital of Catalonia vs. The capital of Spain meet at least twice a year in 'El Clasico'. Catalonia is a region in the east of Spain which feels independent and one of the ways in which it expresses that is through it's football club FC Barcelona. Between World War II and the dictator's death in 1975, Franco's regime suppressed the use of the Catalan language. Franco's favorites Real Madrid against the blaugrana from Barcelona is more than just a match between the two biggest clubs in Spain.
