Dear All,
This post is all about current features of R4E. Those of you who don’t know R4E, it will help you to get jump start and those of you who know R4E, it will give you more understanding of these features.

First of all I would like to say that the sole aim of building this product is to utilize passion of people for their support or idol in a meaningful way to get something good out of it. It provides entertainment that is for sure but at the end you get lot of data which can be analyzed to make a decision. Anyways we will talk more about that later, lets start with the features.

1) Create Rivalry

Creating a rivalry is a simple one step process.You just need to give both the Rival’s name, select the one you support, select type and optionally you can also add images and brief description about the rivalry to give more information. That’s it. You can start the FIRE now.

2) Invite Friends

On various occasions you will be able to invite your friends. After creating a rivalry, after joining a rivalry or just to let them know about R4E anytime. You can either enter email addresses manually or import them from your Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail accounts.

3) Join Rivalry

You can join any rivalry by just click JOIN link in rivalry detail page. In the next step you will be able to invite your friends to join.

4) Weapons

Now that it is rivalry it means both are capable or fighting each other tooth and nail. In that case both should have some positive qualities which makes them better than the other. That is what weapons are. The style and shape could be the weapon of Mercedes but strength and service could be BMW’s weapon. So just about anything could be the weapon.And more weapons of course convey a stronger rival. So go ahead support your side by adding weapons in its armor.

5) Weakness

As the name suggests it describes the weakness of the rival team. Add quality weaknesses of the rival team and let it be rated by your fellow team members to make your rival team weaker and weaker.

6) Upload Video

An image is worth a thousand words but a video clip is worth thousand images. Here you can upload videos that always fascinated you about your idol. The first performance of Elvis Presley or the rarely seen video of launch of SuperMario- anything could be added here.

7) Upload Image

A moment. The moment. Any thing that made you shun away all the other things and just and just watch the story unfolds what you put up here. Upload the moment that would make your opponents freeze and your supporters jump with joy. Let the world know why you support whom you support.

8 ) Passion Talk

Always wanted to shout at the top of your voice how you could die or kill for the ones you support but never had anyone listen to you? Then here is the best place you could voice yourself and be assured that thousands will hear you. So don’t wait- Just talk!

9) Events

An event is an event. Upcoming or gone. It is a milestone in the life of each rival. The stepping of Apollo on the moon could be an ‘Event’ for the supporters of USA while the awaited release of Hugh Grant’s latest flick too could be an ‘Event’. Just find out what your idol/side is doing and let everyone know.

10) Energy Meter

Energy Meters shows real strength of the rival or a side. It is calculated based on many factors such as number of fans, quantity and quality of contents uploaded. Don’t let your side down by going down here!

11) Profile

Your profile shows details such as rivalries created by you, joined by you, your rank, points etc etc.

12) View Fans

You can see fans of your side by clicking on view all fans link on rivalry detail page. Just visit their profile and see rivalries created by them and join if you share the same passion.

These are the major requirements of R4E right now. We are coming up with lots and lots of new exciting features. So hang on for a while!

Thank you for visiting this blog. It is a pleasure to welcome you all on this blog which is dedicated to www.rivals4ever.com, a place where your passion is recognized and respected.

If you have few minutes I would like to tell you how this idea was originated.

I was watching a movie “Fever Pitch” starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon on star movies few months back with my wife. It is a love story revolving around rivalry between Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees in baseball. For those of you who are not from US, it is one of the biggest rivalry in any sports. You can get more details about the rivalry from this wikipedia page.

I got so engrossed in the movie that I dreamed about it whole night literally and you know what is the first thing I told my wife on the next day morning (yes the first thing) “I have an idea, why don’t we create a site where people can come and create their own rivalries.” . My wife gave me cold response of course as she was still asleep and told me “abhi, you have gone mad.”
Well, so this is how it all started and then I discussed the idea with my friends who are also my business partners at www.digi-corp.com and they all liked the idea (or I think they did not want to disappoint me at that time). After that we started executing the plan and decided to start building facebook application for this as it was more suitable to have such application over Facebook. Facebook applications can become viral easily and one can have large number of users in short time. Plus it was new and upcoming market in which we wanted to jump in.

We submitted the idea to Techcrunch40 but could not make it to the finals. Then we submitted the idea to LeWeb3 and got the confirmation of selection in First 50 companies but finalists were only 30 so still there was a chance of rejection. But this time it clicked and it clicked big time as we were the only Indian company to be selected in final 30 companies to present in Startup competition. Arguably LeWeb3 is the biggest conference of its kind in Europe.

So we started working day and night but now we needed an independent site also as only facebook application will not work as a finalists company to present. Thanks to our highly talented and committed team of PHP developers we just finished first phase of development before December 11, the day on which we were supposed to launch it at LeWeb3.

We presented our concept on LeWeb3 in a little different type of presentation which was liked by few and disliked by few but we are proud of the way we presented. There was at least dynamism involved in the presentation and it was not boring.

Now we are working on lots of exciting features which will be more engaging for users. We hope you will enjoy the journey of rivals4ever.com with us.
